InnovaCast has signed an exclusive North American manufacturing and sales agreement for what is quietly being referred to in the industry as the “holy grail” of wetcast molds.  The new InnovaCast molds provide the detail of latex molds, the durability and life span of polyurethane molds, and have a cost just slightly more than molds made with plastisol; in essence, providing the producer with the best of all worlds.  Manufactured stone veneer and wetcast producers will no longer need to make a choice between high quality, low cost and high durability when designing their products and factories. Using a proprietary material known as TEP, these molds will have an incredibly positive impact on a stone veneer or wetcast producer’s ability to increase sales revenue, reduce operating costs and simultaneously improve efficiency.  It’s basically a paradigm shift in how to think about molds. The new InnovaCast molds have been field tested in a number of facilities around the country and have taken what has typically been a simple expense item, and elevated it to one that can positively impact not just manufacturing, but total profitability. Why is an InnovaCast Mold better than a traditional latex or polyurethane mold?  One reason these other mold materials are made to their typical thickness is due to a tradeoff of soft durometer for detail, versus harder durometer for strength.  When using softer durometer for product detail, much more material has to be used in the walls and the bottom of the mold to provide the required strength for operational needs and this adds cost. By using a harder durometer, one can reduce the amount of material required (and the corresponding cost) but you then sacrifice quality and stone detail.  There is a push-pull relationship going on, and one side will always offset the other..UNTIL NOW. InnovaCast Molds offer dual durometer aspects giving you a mold that provides the necessary strength, highest detail, and unprecedented mold and pigment release.  InnovaCast molds can be made in either a skin mold or a block (solid) mold to best suit your product and manufacturing application.
